Why doesn’t my internet work now that I uninstalled Windows Xp Service Pack 3?
Well the reason I uninstalled service pack 3 in the first place was because I was trying to install a program called Media Center Extender Program to run videos from my computer to my xbox 360. I read online that if I uninstalled service pack 3 and ran the setup again, it would work because I was having issues installing media center extender. It turns out not only can i still not install the media center extender program but my internet has totally stopped working. I have tried everything to try to fix it like resetting my modem and router and computer and scanning my computer for spyware, malware, and viruses. My scanners found some stuff and deleted it but still didn’t work. I also found out that I’am still able to get internet on my laptop and get on xbox live on my xbox 360 so now that pretty much tells me its something on my desktop but I just don’t know what it is. If any1 can suggest something I can try to fix this, it would greatly be appreciated.
Your not alone! Service pack 3 has many bugs and have caused a lot of problems.
1. Repair your Windows installation

2. You can try using the roll back feature to a point before you installed SP3. If you can’t rollback check out this post to do it with your Windows CD at the command prompt…

This option is gonna hose settings and other changes you made though.
3. You may want to try reinstalling SP3, I KNOW “thats what started this! Then you can remove it using another method here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950249 , provided everything works after you install SP3.
If none of that works you will have to identify why you cannot connect.
